  1. 1. What is most upsetting to Stanley about his trial is he explaining the truth knowing that they still going to consider the fact that he is guilty.

    2. The reason why Stanley probably thought the sneakers was a " a gift from God" when he first found them is because it so happens that his father is working on a particular invention that has to do with it plus it belongs to a famous person taht Stanley admires.

    3. The advice taht Stanley's mother offer to him at his trial was to just tell the truth. This would be the way i advise him because least he know that he went down telling the truth.

    4. The family curse of the Yelnats came from when Stanley great great grandfather wanted to marry a girl who he loved but he wasnt the only one who did so at the moment the other one had more to offer than Stankey's great great grandfather so Stanley's great great grandfather seeked help from Madame Zaroni ( A Gypsy) so she gave him a set of instructions to follow but after his wishes were forfilled he had to come back for Madame Zaroni so she can drink from the water over the mountains. And indeed his wishes were forfilled but he forgot about Madame Zaroni. And from there she cursed him for not sticking to his word. Yes i believe this is the reason of Stanley's conviction because she said his decendents were cursed as well for eturnity.

    5. The reason why it was hard for Stanley to dig a hole than the other boys is because he not use to this type of work and is very heavy set.

    6. The ritual of the boys after they dig a whole is they spit in. The reason why i think this is is to show the least respect they have for it.

  2. 1. The most upsetting to Stanley about his trial is that he knoows if he lies or tell the truth noone will believe him. So even if he tells the truth they would look at him and still say he's guilty.

2.The reason why stanley thinks the sneackers were a gift from god was because in his mind it apparently fell from the sky and since he new that not everyone gets a chance of having those sneackers especially him.

3.The advice that stanley mother gives to him is to tell the truth but since noone will believe him he dont no what to do. No? I wouldn't give stanley this kind of advice becuase why would they believe that the sneackers fell from the sky.

4.The curse actually came from stanley's great great grandfather wanted to marry this girl but he wasn't the only one. There was this other guy who was willing to marry her as well. So stanley's great great grandfather didnt want nothing to loose nor loose her so what he did was asked Madame Zaroni for help as she helped him she asked for a favor and he said "of corse anything for you" so she said carry me to the top of the mountain so i can drink some of that stream water. As stanley promised her day by day time flies and it was over for stanley's great great grandfather. He was curse because he never carried Madame Zaroni to the top of the mountain to drink stream water. So she passed away.

5.The reason why it was hard for stanley to dig than it was for the other boys was because stanley wasnt use to the hard work and he also wasnt able to work with the kind of shovel he has just because it was very heavy.

    6. The ritual for these boys was to spit in the holes just to show them that they did all this hard work for nothing just to teach themselves a lesson. but also to show them that they dont have respect for the things they do for no reason in there.

  3. What upset stanley the most was his hero being there. It was not his hero clyde livingston being there in particular. Howevere it was what his hero had said and thought about him his hero had said "he coudn't imagine what kind of horrible person would steal from homless children." (page23 chapter6)The fact that his hero thought he was a no good thife really hurt him the most.

Sence his father was trying to recyle old sneakers he felt like his father would be able to use them. On page 24 the reader read that he ran not knowing why. Well I think he ran because he felt like they were "destiny's shoes"(page24) he also believed they would provide the key to his father sucess.

The advice given to him by his mother was to tell the truth. I would not have given him the same advice because no one believed in him when he said "it fell from the sky" (page25 charter6) I would have told him to say he found them that way people would have to look in the case a little more and find stanely innocent.

"Stanely supposedly had a great great grandfather who stole a pig from a one legged gypsy, and she put a curse on him and his descendants." (chapter3 page8) The author tells the reader on page28 a little bit more about the curse. Stanely great great grandfather Elya yelants made a deal with madame zeroni to carry her up a mountain and let her drink the water and sing to her(page31). In return she let him carry a pig up the mountain and do the same to it as she wanted him to do for her. However he did not carry out the deal causing the cusing the curse. Me my personal oppion I don't think the curse was the reason for Stanely conviction or his father failled inventions. The reason is simply because of a little tearable luck also Stanely made the wrong decison when he took the shoes and his Father Stanely the third is missing something to make his inventions work.

It is harder for him to dig holes because he is overweight and it is his first day. His body hasn't adjusted to diging just yet.

The ritual is that each boy spit in their hole. I think that this is their own way of saying good job to them self. It can also be their way of ending the dig.

  4. 1:The most upsetting thing is that Stanley has to choose camp or jail and he chooses camp because he has never been there before because his family is poor but when he got to the camp and got to know how it was he kinda wished he was in jail.

2:The reason why stanley thinks the sneackers were a gift from god was because it felt of the sky into his book bag.

3:.The advice that stanley mother gives to him is to tell the truth but it didn't help him at all.He tell them that the sneakers felt out of the sky but no one believe him.

4:The family curse of the Yelnats came from when Stanley great great grandfather wanted to marry a girl who he loved. In my opinion I think the curse is true because if Stanley and his family believed in this it`s true.

5:The reason why it was hard for Stanley to dig a hole than the other boys is because he not use to it like the other boys who been their for week or even years.

6:They spit saliva into their holes.I think they do this to show them that they only do this for them self.

  5. 1. The most upsetting thing is that stanley is trying to tell people the truth but they keep thinking that he is guilty.

    2. I think Stanley thought it was "a gift from god" id because his father is working on a invention to take away foot odor.

    3. The advice Stanley's mother gives him is to tell the truth. I would have told him the same thing because if you like you would feel guilty, but at least he would know that he did the right thing by telling the truth.

4.The family curse began from his great-great grandfather, he wanted to marry a girl and promised to carry the lady up the mountain to drink from the stream, but he forgot and he went to america. I don't think the curse is true Stanley may have just been in the wrong place in the wrong time like he said.

5.It was hard for Stanley to dig the hole because it was his first time and he had blisters on his hand and it hurried.

    6. The ritual of the boys after they dig a hole is they spit in it. I think it shows a job well done and a step closer to becoming good and a lesson learned

¿No?

  8. 1. In my opinion the most upsetting thing is that he had to make a difficult decision about camp or jail he had to pick camp because he thinks it will be fun.

    2. He thinks that the sneaker was a gift from god because it fell from the sky and he was amazed.

    3. His mother rather him to say the truth. I would had said the samething because itvis better than lying and get into more trouble.

    4. The curse started when his great grandfather had made a promise about carrying the lady up the mountain but he happens to forget and went to america. I don't believe in that curse it just that Stanley wasn't very lucky.

  9. 1. In my opinion I think that the most upsetting part of these two chapters is that even though Stanley is telling the truth no matter how many times he says it it’s going to sound silly.
    2. He thought that they were a gift from god b/c his father is an (inventor) and at that time he was inventing something that had to do with shoes. So Stanley figured it could help him win money.
    3. His mother told him that he doesn’t need a lawyer that all he needs to do is tell the truth. I would do the same because if you tell them to lie it would reflect on you of what kind of parent you are.
Then when they start lying to you don't complain when they say you said it was ok.
    4. The families curse is that Stanley's great grandfather didn’t do what he was told so the lady put a curse on him and the whole family. No I do not believe in this curse is real b/c no one has the power to curse someone. I also do not think that what is happening to them now is his great grandfathers fault b/c no one would believe in the curse at that age.
    5. It was harder because they have been in there longer than he has besides it’s the first hole he ever dug that is 5 feet wide and 5 ft deep.
    6. The ritual is that they spit inside the whole. I think they do this because they don't like digging holes and they are disrespecting the hole.
